The Art of Possibility, written by Ben and Roz Zander, is a refreshing look at leadership in the most inclusive sense of the word. The 12 practices that the Zanders offer through this book, promise to be applicable to a wide range of contexts and based on the anecdotes, first-hand accounts and stories included in the book, this would seem to be true. Ben, conductor of the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra, and Roz, a coach and family therapist, come at this topic from very different perspectives, yet manage to meld together their viewpoints and find a common space that makes sense, adds value to the reader and hope to us all. In this review I share three practices from their books and comment more broadly on the importance of living with a view toward possibility.
