Book Review Exponential Organizations by Salim Ismail
Show Notes

This book by Salim Ismail, Michael S. Malone and Yuri Van Geest, all of Singularity University fame, was (and still is) a bold statement of how businesses can start and scale using technology to create an exponential growth curve.  Drawing on a vast number of examples – both well-known and more obscure, the team presents ten attributes – five internal and five external, to building an exponential organisation.  These attributes are structured around the idea of a Massive Transformative Purpose (a Big Hairy Audacious Goal but with a ‘why’) that serves as the anchor point for all that the firm does.  The book is written in an easy and engaging style and is quick to understand; this is as much a field guide as it is a philosophy and should be essential reading for those wanting to build to scale using technology as the lever.
