Show Notes

Jenny Kleeman’s book is a roller coaster ride through the future of the very things that make us human – food, sex, birth and death.  With the eye of an anthropologist, she immerses herself into an underworld of listservs, online groups, start-up entrepreneurs and fringe innovators who are way out at the cutting edge of new products, business models and social conventions. As Kleeman navigates through sex robots with AI and swappable genitalia, hundred dollar chicken nuggets grown from a single cell, finless lab grown tuna, high-end surrogate agencies, birthing bio bag and the Elon Musk of Suicide, you get a sense of the striving of people to not only make sense of our world but to imagine what it could be way into the future.  Kleeman makes an excellent guide and is a quick study of the edge dark world.
